Diclofenac relieves pain, reduces inflammation and lowers temperature in infections of the ear, nose and throat
Voltaren Rapid 25 is recommended for the short-term treatment of acute painful and inflammatory conditions such as ankle sprains, bruises and muscle strains; period pain, back pain and migraine headaches; post-operative pain eg. Following dental or minor surgery. Onset of pain relief is usually within 15 to 30 minutes
Voltaren Rapid 25 is also effective in severe, painful inflammatory infections of the ear, nose or throat. In these conditions, however, you should consult your doctor as the underlying infection should also be treated
Elderly people may be more sensitive to the effects of Voltaren Rapid 25 than other adults and should use the lowest dose for their condition. It is especially important for elderly patients to report any unwanted effects promptly to their doctor or pharmacist.
Warnings:
If you suffer from stomach ulcer DO NOT TAKE Voltaren Rapid 25
If you have ever had an allergic reaction or asthma attack after taking diclofenac or any other anti-inflammatory medicine such as aspirin, DO NOT TAKE Voltaren Rapid 25
Check with your pharmacist before taking Voltaren Rapid 25 if;
- You have had any disease of the stomach or intestine or have experienced stomach discomfort or had heartburn after taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines in the past
- You suffer from asthma
- You suffer from heart, liver or kidney disease
- You have high blood pressure
- You have a bleeding disorder or other blood disorders, including hepatic porphyria
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Experience with diclofenic has revealed no evidence of birth defects attributable to the medicine. However, in conformity with current standards of medicinal practice,
administration of Voltaren Rapid 25 during the first three months of pregnancy should not be
undertaken unless it is considered essential and only in the lowest effective dose. As
with other medicines of this type, Voltaren Rapid 25 should also not be administered during the
last three months of pregnancy (as Cataflam could harm your unborn child or cause problems at delivery) unless it is considered essential by your doctor
Voltaren Rapid 25 passes into the breast milk, but in quantities so small that no undesirable
effects on the infant are to be expected
Overdosage:
If you accidentally take more Voltaren Rapid 25 tablets than recommended, seek medical advice at once
Not recommended for children 14 years and under. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
Store Below 30°C
Dosage:
Adults: Initially 2 tablets, then if necessary, 1 or 2 tablets every 8 hours
Children over 14 years of age: 1 tablet 3 times daily. Do not exceed 6 tablets daily
