Nicorette is made by Pharmacia. Nicorette is intended to help you, the smoker, to quit smoking. It helps you to concentrate on breaking the habit of smoking by reducing the unpleasant nicotine withdrawal effects you normally experience when you stop smoking. Once you can break the smoking habit it is usually not difficult to give up Nicorette.
Active Ingredients:
Each chewing piece contains 2mg of nicotine. Also contains chewing gum base, xylitol, acesulfame potassium, polacrilin, sodium bicarbonate, sodium carbonate, peppermint oil, menthol, magnesium oxide, E171, E321, talc, acacia and carnauba wax.
General:
Quitting smoking is never easy, but there are easier ways. Only part of cigarette smoking is the addiction to nicotine, the other part is a learned habit. Smoking is a difficult habit to unlearn and can require a lot of time and effort, but the rewards are high. Nicorette 2mg is also available in Mint or Classic flavor. One fresh piece of Nicorette should be chewed slowly each time you feel the urge to smoke a cigarette. You should chew each piece for about 30 minutes to release all the nicotine. Nicotine is absorbed through the lining of the mouth when you chew.
Warning:
Not suitable for children or under 18's. All forms of nicotine should be avoided during pregnancy. Smokers who wear dentures may find it difficult to chew Nicorette. Dosage:
Nicorette Gum is available in 2mg and 4mg strengths. The strength you choose depends on your own individual needs. If you find you require more than 20 pieces of 2mg each day, you may wish to try the 4mg.
Adult daily dose: not more than 15 pieces.
When you have completely overcome your desire for smoking, gradually reduce the number of pieces chewed each day. Do not attempt to stop using Nicorette completely until you are satisfied with only one or two pieces a day. It is recommended that Nicorette be used for three months before this gradual reduction is started. It is during the first three months that the risk of failure is greatest. Remember to carry some Nicorette with you after you have stopped smoking in case you feel a sudden urge to smoke again.
